FIG-ure it out

Sticky Toffee Pudding with Candied Fennel and Fig Puree
Pg. 225
Alexander, Season 1
52 down…47 to go!

I’ve never made sticky toffee pudding before. I’ve never tasted it. I’ve never even seen it in person. Therefore, I had NO idea what to expect with this dish. But that’s why I titled this blog post “FIG-ure it out,” because sometimes that’s just what you gotta do — especially when you are doing something completely new.

While it tasted delicious, I’m not entirely sure I did everything correctly. I divided the recipe in half, hoping to make 3 puddings instead of 7, but the scaled-down recipe only made one. Also, the photo of the pudding in the book had a flat top, but mine came out raised like a soufflĂ©. And I was running out of daylight to shoot photos, so I didn’t have time to finish the candied fennel topping. So maybe it’s not exactly like the recipe, but this is what I got. All that matters to me is that it tasted good and I can cross another MasterChef Junior dessert off my list!

All my love,
Dani, a big tid

P.S. Why is it called pudding? Lol I’m so confused.
