53 down…46 to go!

This was my second attempt at macarons, and to be honest, they didn’t really go as well as the first time around. The base recipe was different from Alexander’s (my first attempt), which I thought was odd. So when it wasn’t going as well as I’d have liked, I went back to his recipe to make the base. Once the batter was solid, I went on to the filling and unfortunately, burned the caramel. I’d only ever made caramel once before (thanks to the MasterChef Junior cookbook) and it went well the first time. Maybe I got too cocky?

I was also trying to get so much done at once, and was too distracted. But in the end, I still got a couple “money shots” and for that I am grateful! Speaking of which, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Let me know what you’re grateful for in the comments.

All my love,
Dani, a big tid

P.S. What is your favorite macaron flavor combo?! I want to be able to perfect it.
