One Delicious Appetizer:
This MasterChef Junior recipe will be ready on deck when we can start entertaining guests again. It’s a simple yet delicious appetizer that will be sure to wow anyone coming over. Andrew, from Season 3, sure did wow the judges with this dish during his finale. Even though he didn’t win his season, he should still be very proud of this yummy finger food app.
This is my last MCJ appetizer, and we went out with a bang by learning how to make homemade ricotta cheese! I really enjoyed the process of making it, as it felt kind of like a science experiment. I must try making more of my own cheeses in the future. Oh, and butter!

The recipe called for Chioggia and golden beets, but I ended up with regular and golden. Since the red ones were so much bigger, it took almost twice the amount of time to roast them (beets are stubborn veggies). I ended up only photographing the golden beets, which I think are prettier anyway, but I enjoyed the red beets when I finally got to dig into to the dish after the photoshoot.
I loved setting up this scene. Shout out to The Dollar Tree for selling this great “Drink Local” glass. I also recently made a trip to IKEA and got a big haul of great props for future food photography. Who would have thought that a year ago when I started this MasterChef Junior Journey, I would fall in love with food photography? Not me. As I near the end of this experience, I am so excited to build a career in this field. Stay tuned and subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next after this.

All my love,
Dani, a big tid
P.S. Recently, I made two other MasterChef Junior appetizers that were served on toasted bread with great sauces/spreads. If you haven’t read about the Shrimp and Páté Crostini Appetizers yet, feel free to check it out. Making those alongside this recipe would make for great tapas at your next dinner party.
