Nostalgic Friends Cocktails: The One Where We All Get Tipsy

Nostalgic, Customized Drinks Inspired by the Cast of Friends

So no one told you life was gonna be this way? Is your job a joke? Are you broke? Is your love life DOA? Well, if it feels like you’re always stuck in second gear or if it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year…these drinks will be there for you. Just let the liquor pour. They’ll be there for you, like they’ve been there before. They’ll be there for you because that’s what they’re designed to do. These Nostalgic Custom Cocktails were designed with each character in mind, and I hope you enjoy each and every one of them.

The Ross: Dino Daiquiri

This cocktail is inspired by Ross’s profession (and passion), dinosaurs. Ross is a paleontologist and dino enthusiast. He also isn’t the “manliest” man. Therefore, I didn’t think he’d turn down a frozen strawberry daiquiri. With only 3 main ingredients, this drink is simple, strong, and delicious. The plastic dinosaurs on top are optional, but highly recommended. P.S. I had so much fun making the video for this drink, and it’s gotten over 93k views on my TikTok (which still blows my mind haha)

The Chandler: Bing’s Bees Knees

Bees Knees are simple gin cocktails made with lemon and honey. Chander’s version is made with homemade honey simple syrup and is garnished with a lemon twist and whole, raw honeycomb. I imagine Chandler dancing (awkwardly, of course) with this drink in hand at a party saying, “Could this cocktail be(e) more delicious?!” P.S. If you’re a fan of gin and lemonade, check out my Hundred Acre Wood Cocktail.

The Monica: Vegan, Healthy(ish) Boozy Milkshake

As all Friends Fans know, Monica lost a bunch of weight after high school, but she is also an incredible chef. She has mastered to art of making incredible food but not gaining the weight back. Therefore, I knew if she made a milkshake, she’d make it insanely delicious but also on the healthier side. This recipe is completely vegan and very low calorie compared to traditional milkshakes. In other words, you can have lots of them without feeling “guilty.”

The Phoebe: Flower Power Mojito

Phoebe is one of my favorite characters. She is quirky, kind of hippie-ish, eccentric, and passionate about the environment. Her cocktail has green liqueurs, fresh fruit juices, and edible flowers. If you drink it, I’m sure she’d insist that you use a reusable straw to reduce your carbon footprint. P.S. I will be dressing more like Phoebe from now on, and since I’m the Nostalgic Foodie, I can just say it’s my uniform. Right?

The Joey: Loaded Bloody Mary

“Joey doesn’t share food!” I quote this to myself all the time when someone leans in to take a few of my french fries. Joey is passionate about food in a way I can relate to, so I knew his cocktail would have to come with snacks…and I don’t mean like an olive or a cherry. Joey’s giant Bloody Mary is filled with some classic summer lunch items: a grilled hot dog, waffle fries, and pickles. When you make yours, feel free to add your own favorites.

The Rachel: Closure Cosmo

The Ross and Rachel will they/won’t they kept Friends fans at the edge of seats for years. Before they ever really began, Rachel left Ross a drunken voicemail saying she was over him and that now she had closure. The next time you rewatch the series, or that episode at least, pour yourself this cocktail. It will help you brace yourself for the rollercoaster that is their relationship.
